MySQL MaxDB 7.5 (Developer Tools)
MaxDB by MySQL is a re-branded and enhanced version of SAP DB, SAP AG's open source database. MaxDB is a SAP-certified open source database that offers scalability and a comprehensive feature set. MaxDB complements the MySQL database server, targetted for large mySAP ERP environments and other applications that require maximum enterprise-level database functionality.

Today, about 6,000 customer installations are using MaxDB technology globally, including Intel, DaimlerChrysler, Braun, Bayer, Colgate, Yamaha and Toyota South Africa.

MaxDB is available under the MySQL AB 'dual licensing' model. Under this model, users may choose to use MySQL products under the free software/opensource GNU General Public License or under a commercial license.

The standard installation includes all MaxDB software components: Base, Database Kernel, Server Utilities (tools for administering the database kernel like Database Manager CLI), Precompiler Runtime Package, call programs for the precompiler, C++ Precompiler, DB Analyzer, Loader, Web Tools, ODBC, JDBC, Python Interface, Perl Interface, and XML Indexing Engine.
