  • Alcatel-Lucent has entered into an alliance with BNP Paribas's BNP Paribas Lease Group (BPLG) to offer its financial services to the banking finance services and insurance (BFSI) sector across the globe.

The company intends to particularly target the small and medium enterprises (SME) within this segment through its financial arm, Alcatel-Lucent Financial Services.

The tie-up aims to provide a range of financial products and services leveraging from its existing business partner network. The alliance has positioned the services around the low-capex model for this sector

The solution is designed to provide an end-to-end solution approach, encompassing processes such as credit checks, quotations and financing contracts.

"We look forward to deploying this international program on behalf of Alcatel-Lucent," said Joseph Pulicano, head of IT and telecom within BPLG. "Our combined forces will bring Alcatel-Lucent Business Partners an efficient and easy-to-use financing service to continue developing their sales while small and medium business customers preserve or optimize their financial positions."

"Alcatel-Lucent Financial Services will complement our enterprise portfolio with a set of attractive financing solutions," said Marie-Laure Mazaud, global head of project finance and credit at Alcatel-Lucent. "Partnering with BPLG in this new offering will enable our customers to manage their communication needs despite the tight credit situation brought about by the current economic environment."

The services will be made available initially in Spain, France, Germany, Benelux and Poland and gradually expanded across the globe, the company said in a statement.
