B2B Integration, EDI on SaaS
By CXOtoday News Team

Wipro and Axway have aligned to offer business-to-business integration (B2Bi) and electronic data interchange (EDI) managed services using a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.
The combined solution will enable companies to outsource non-core business functions, streamline processes, improve efficiencies and lower total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) while processing, capturing and tracking critical events across their extended supply chains.
According to a press release, Wipro can either host Axway's software for the customer or actually manage the customer's B2B and EDI operations, depending upon the customer's needs and Internet-based or cloud computing strategies. The solution also encompasses business process management (BPM), business activity monitoring (BAM) and rapid partner on-boarding.
"SaaS models enable businesses to get what they need to support innovation quickly, without making capital investments in additional infrastructure," said Srini Pallia, global head and vice president, Business Technology Services, Wipro Limited.
B2Bi as SaaS is expected to have a strong growth potential. Market analysts anticipate 50 percent growth on worldwide B2B gateways and over 100 percent growth in B2B outsourcing -- reaching an estimated $3 billion over the next four to five years.
Both companies will be able to drive global B2B consolidation projects, as their customers move away from proprietary and legacy systems to shared industry-standard infrastructure, said the release.
