  • Bharti Teletech, manufacturers and distributors of telecom and allied products in India, has been awarded the Excellence in Manufacturing Award at the National Telecom Awards for 2007, organized by Telecom Equipment Manufacturers' Association (TEMA). It is said that the company offers over 45 different Beetel phone models with prices ranging from Rs.295 to Rs.3995 across basic, feature, and cordless phones catering to customers across various segments.

The award was given to Pawan Kapur, CEO of Bharti Teletech by Shakeel Ahmed, honorable Minister of State for communications and IT on the occasion of World Telecom and Information Society Day.

According to the press release, the winners were decided on the basis of a survey conducted by PriceWaterhouseCoopers, which recognizes companies that have contributed to the growth of the telecom industry in India.

The National Telecom Awards instituted by TEMA, is said to be known as the National Apex body to represent telecom technology providers, global and Indian, private and government owned companies.

Pawan Kapur, CEO of Bharti Teletech said, "It is indeed a matter of great pride for us at Bharti Teletech to have received the Excellence in Manufacturing Award for 2007 from TEMA. We are grateful for having been recognized as one of the largest manufacturers of fixed line telephones in the globe, and the award is a reaffirmation of Beetel s manufacturing prowess in the telecom sector."

The company is said to have an installed capacity of 6 million phones at its factories located in Ludhiana and Goa, and is the largest phone manufacturer globally, outside China. During the year 2006-07, the company enhanced its retail market share to 45% besides exporting over a million telephones.

Pawan Kapur was fired from Panasonic India and then by Casio India before joining Bharti because of his connections to the Mittal Brothers. He is just a paper pusher who is unable to deliver the goods in a touch market.

Even Sanjay Bali did the same at Panasonic. Made sure all the good people left the company and only his chamchaas remained. Then after doing all this damage he joined Samsung.

Indian manufacturers can not bear China. Not because they are incapable but because of our constitutional/govt policies for manufacturing setups.
