The talk of a possible alliance between Google and Salesforce.com has finally got a concrete shape as the two companies have formally announced the alliance coupled with a new product called Salesforce Group Edition featuring Google AdWords. The product is expected to allow companies to work efficiently, streamline their operations, and successfully acquire customers.
According to a press release, this joint product will enable businesses of all sizes to attract and retain customers, providing them with the tools similar to those used by the larger enterprises. Most importantly, the new offering aims at enhancing customer relationship by integrating Salesforce's CRM with the sales and marketing capability of Google AdWords.
Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of salesforce.com said, "The internet has completely changed the landscape for small and medium businesses, and the alliance between Google and Salesforce.com enables companies of all sizes to acquire new customers and streamline their business to experience unfettered success."
As part of the alliance, Salesforce.com will be the first on-demand company to resell the Google AdWords platform, acting as an official distribution channel for Google AdWords product. The alliance is across 43 countries and encompasses distribution, technology, and co-marketing efforts.
Salesforce Group Edition featuring Google AdWords is available in a five user edition for a 30 day promotional price of $600 per year, including a US $50 AdWords credit. The US $50 AdWords promotional credit is available to new AdWords advertisers in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The list price of the solution is US $1,200 per year, and AppExchange applications may require an additional fee.
