  • The Congress party is using popular social networking and video sharing sites as part of their digital marketing campaign.

Their strategy is to use social networking sites like Orkut, Rediff iShare, Facebook, etc. to drive traffic to the 'Jai Ho' video on YouTube. The party has roped in digital marketing company - Ignitee Digital Solutions, to execute the project.

According to YouTube statistics, the main Congress 'Jai Ho' video had received 31, 562 views at last count.

The Internet and especially Web 2.0 has been used extensively by political parties in their campaigns recently. The Congress party had in fact announced last year itself its intention to use social networking sites to connect with the youth.

While the Congress is slowly coming to grips with necessity to go digital, its saffron front rival has released a completed 30-pointer IT Vision.
