Ctrl S Bags International Certification
By Muntazir Abbas
Delhi, Jul 4, 2008

With specialization in design, building, and management of business-critical Web infrastructures, Ctrl S Datacenters has become the first tier IV data centre in India to receive the ISO/IEC 20000 and ISO/IEC 27000 certificate from the British Standards Institute.

The company is promoted by the Rs. 500 crore Pioneer Group in association with IDBI and Och-Ziff - a New York-based global hedge fund. Ctrl S handles the Internet data centre business and serves large multinational clients, who use Internet as the predominant delivery medium.

Sridhar Reddy, CMD of Ctrl S says, "We have been following the best practices and providing the services of highest standards to our customers. Infact we are the only Tier IV data center in the country to carve a niche". However, the possession of this certificate will enable Ctrl S to compete for datacentre capacity requirement in the global market.

The ISO/IEC 20000 certification was introduced in December 2005, and has become the first international standard for IT service management, which incorporates the best practice guidelines contained in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and Microsoft Operations Framework.

Stressing on the importance of the certification for his company, Reddy remarks, "This makes clear how serious we are about our business strategies and plans". He adds, "We are concerned about the expectations of our clientele. These certifications reinforce our commitment to the quality".

This certification reviews and deals with the establishment, implementation and operation management, as well as monitors, maintains and improves the Information Security Management System (ISMS). This certification is crucial since a datacenter hosts and manages critical data, reveals an industry insider.
