Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), an electricity distribution company has deployed an internet based revenue management solution.
The solution is based on Software as a Service model (SaaS). It will integrate and manage customer information, metering and billing.
According to a press release, Closed Gap Enzen (CGE) has set up a customer care center at DHBVN s circle to offer integrated customer care and billing solutions.
The release claims that DHBVN is the first distribution company to have deployed the SaaS model.
The Revenue Management Solution of CGE would provide ON LINE access to Customer,Billing and Metering information and also provide critical Management Information which would enable and ensure Operational Efficiency and Customer Satisfaction, at each Sub Division/Circle level. The solution provides options galore to consumers in terms of payment modes, like automatic payment machines, spot billing machines.
Sunil V Rao, CEO, Closed Gap Enzen adds, "We are pleased to implement our pilot project for DHBVN. Our commitment is to ensure and enable an ON LINE process which will not only simplify operational management, but also substantially improves Revenue Management."
Lt. General Onkar S. Lohchab (Retd.), Chairman, DHBVN and UHBVN, says, "Partnering with Closed Gap Enzen is in line with our mission to excel in power distribution. Online integration of the system would enable us to focus on our core expertise of ensuring efficient distribution and quality service. This solution would bring in the transition from legacy billing system to the state of the art meter-to-cash solution."
The only investment involved is personal computers and an internet connection. If DHBVN would want to implement an IT infrastructure with a skilled team, huge capital costs would have been needed. The SaaS model claims to ensure that there would be no elaborate investment in IT infrastructure and CGE hosts the complete solution at its cost in its own servers.
