Delhi-based real estate major DLF Universal Ltd. has opted for Ramco Enterprise Series suite of Applications.
Built on Ramco VirtualWorks, the ERP solution consists of finance, demand fulfillment, procurement, inventory, HRMS and maintenance functions. In addition, the company will also deploy a few custom-made components that are specific to the real estate business.
Costing approximately Rs 2.5 crores, the solution will be implemented in two phases. The first phase covering the back office, financial, procurement and inventory modules is expected to be completed by October 2006, while the second phase, set to go live by the year end, will see the completion of the industry-specific leasing, services, billing and broker management solutions.
This new deployment will replace the company's current Oracle Financial package and a bunch of in-house applications. It went for this implementation because of the need to integrate its existing processes and to keep up with its financial growth.
"With a vision to become one of the largest end-to-end real estate player in the world, we felt the enormous need for technology-enabled informed decision making at all strategic levels," said Ramesh Sanka, Group CFO, DLF Universal Ltd.
DLF had also evaluated offerings from Wipro and PCS before finalizing on Ramco. The company had only considered Indian ERP vendors because it believes that they offer better implementation and post-implementation services.

by Yogesh Thakur on Oct 08, 2009 11:58 AMwe have been evaluating a TOTAL solution for real eastate and found that IN4Velocity Systems is the only organization which has a product with all related processes and functionalities, Pinga just has Sales, SAP is not har core real estate and too expensive, Cannix is just sales and Gamut also is just Sales module. And In4 has maximum number of installation acorss india and abroad. would suggest all to look at them once. its value for money.

by Sandy on Aug 21, 2006 09:54 PMStrange that DLF did not even evaluate vendors who have actually got a solution for Real Estate before finalizing on Ramco who doesn't have any solution for Real Estate industry. As per my market knowledge Ramco has never ever done any implementation for Real Estate and Construction industry infact their solution is not even prefered by manufacturing companies these days.

by Sundaresan Rama on Aug 16, 2006 04:50 PMYou may have to visit Ramco's website and reach them for more information on the product. As far as I know, their application very well fits into Tier-1 and competes with the well known names. Better be a professional and have a healthy message correspondence at this site. There are serious readers here.

by Alan Smith on Jul 26, 2006 09:56 AMOf course !!! Major construction firms like HCC, IVCRL have adopted ERP's of leading global vendors. Quite surprising, why DLF has not even considered them ???. Anyways, this is Ramco's first site in India in the construction Industry and we wish Ramco and DLF all the very best in their endeavour...

by V.S. Manikkam on Jul 26, 2006 09:18 AMIt is a feather in the cap for Ramco who has baged the order of DLF who is one of the biggest real estate owner in Delhi. Congratulations Ramco. It has been a very wise decesion taken by the CEO of the DLF considering only the Indian based company for implementing ERP for getting a better and cost effective solution from a local ERP vendor. Generally company tend to forget post implementation cost and support of any ERP implementation wjhich plays a very vital fact in the business operation of the company with ERP. I wish DLF all the success and supporting in selecting the correct vendor for their ERP.
