DVS Adds New Applications for Retail Sector
By CXOtoday Staff
Mumbai, Jan 22, 2007

Dynamic Vertical Solution (DVS) has launched two new applications, the StoreVision and the Peocon- People Flow solutions for the Indian retail and shopping centre sector.

Earlier this month, DVS had launched AGR- Inventory Optimiser, and HandPoint Retail.

Peocon provides retail intelligence by means of people counting. It helps identify the buyer and browser ratio. It offers to improve sales at the lower-performing stores, for retailers with more than one store, and raise them to the level of better performing ones.

There are four types of Peocon products, which they can be accessed online through a customized web interface.

*Peocounter- Counts visitors and presents information;

*PeoManager- This is similar to the Peocounter with a connection to the internal back office system to do basic calculations like sales / visitors, turnover/square meters, turnover/employees, sales/employees, turnover/sales, visitors/employees, turnover/visitors, etc.;

*PeoFlowTM- Bearing the same functions as that of Peocounter, it also has the possibility of mapping in detail, the flow of people through the shopping centre or retail outlet;

PeoanalystTM- Has functions similar to that of the PeoManager, but with added external information such as Advertising statistics, Scanning data, Weather information, Consumer behavior/consumer research.

On the other hand, the StoreVision software offers to help retailers in loss prevention, operations, risk management and merchandising. It allows management to efficiently supervise POS activity, and to identify and reduce shrinkage due to theft, poor training, cashier errors, etc.

It helps in synchronized video and data with anytime, anywhere access to 24x7 image recording; Granularity of images and data, providing point and click access to images of individual receipt items; real-time transaction processing engine providing instant access to individual items and messages on a real-time basis; data-mining software with integrated reporting capability including data, images and auditors comments; distributed access across an intranet of the Internet

Fully integrating transaction data and CCTV video images, the StoreVision solution filters out all high-risk transactions, allows for quick review and identification of transaction shrinkage, and reporting to retail management.
