EMC Brings Ohrie On Board

EMC has appointed Alok Ohrie to succeed Manoj Chugh as the president of EMC India and SAARC region. Ohrie has over 20 years of experience in the Indian IT. He joins EMC from AMD where he was the vice president and managing director for AMD's India operations. Manoj Chugh has been promoted to lead the Global Accounts Practice for EMC in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).
Prior to joining AMD, Ohrie spent 13 years with IBM Global Services India in a number of executive management positions, including director of Systems and Technology Group for India and South Asia. During the early part of his career, Ohrie worked at Wipro Infotech and ESPL. Ohrie holds a bachelor's degree in electronics and communication from National Institute of Technology (formerly REC), Suratkal.
He will lead EMC's India and SAARC sales and service organizations with responsibility for the region's total revenue, its current and future customers, and EMC's various partners. Ohrie will work closely with Sarv Saravanan, who is responsible for EMC's Centre of Excellence based in Bangalore, to expand EMC's products and services capabilities in India.
EMC has recently announced around US $500 million in investments in India.
