• EMC Hits SME Market With New Launch Attack

  • EMC Corporation, provider of automated networked storage solutions, announced today a slew of new cost-effective networked storage solutions specially targeted for the mid tier segment.

    EMC has flooded the market with a big bang approach for the second time; releasing a broad range of products, including the following:

    EMC CLARiiON AX100 -- with a capacity of storing up to three terabytes of information is available starting at Rs. 2,81,000

    EMC NetWin 110 Gateway -- a low cost NAS server has a starting list price of Rs. 2,92,000

    EMC Celerra NS500 Integrated NAS -- available in a single or dual data mover configuration, at a list price of Rs 23,20,000

    EMC Celerra NS500G NAS Gateway -- a NAS gateway based on the NS 500 is priced at Rs 21,92,000

    EMC Celerra NS704G NAS Gateway -- costs Rs. 95,70,000 for a four-data-mover configuration with CIFS and Snap.

    EMC Celerra products launched today (NS 500, NS 500G and NS 704G) offer iSCSI support that enables customers to use their IP network.

    According to IDC India, there are over 1.9 million organizations that comprise the SME segment in India. This segment of the market, which contributed to 54% of the domestic IT spending in 2002, is growing faster than the enterprise segment.
