Experian Appoints Global CIO

Experian, the information services company, has promoted Mel Mason to global CIO. He was previously MD of technology services for Experian UK and Ireland. The Global CIO is a new role within Experian, reporting to Mike DeVico, group president of Experian Americas. Mason is responsible for the development and implementation of a common technology strategy and deployment policy as well as enhancing service delivery quality, integrating data centers and networks, and improving overall operating efficiencies, across Experian businesses globally. Mason joined Experian in 2003 from GUS's Home Shopping Division where he spent 12 years as IT director, and also had responsibility for customer service and credit.
