  • Wipro Technologies has warned job-seekers against fraudulent recruitment mailers being sent through a job portal asking them to make refundable deposits.

Reacting to media reports about the fake mailers targeting gullible job-seekers, Pradeep Bahirwani, vice president-talent acquisition, Wipro, said, "Wipro has neither in the past nor now sought any money from candidates before selection."

He further clarified in a statement today that candidates are not selected without completing the requisite interview processes.

The fake mailers mentioned that Wipro has 45 job vacancies in its facilities in Delhi, Bangalore, Noida and Pune. The job aspirants were reportedly asked to make a refundable deposit of Rs 5,850 in a certain bank account. Also, interestingly, they were asked to send resumes to a Gmail ID - and not to an official email ID.

Bahirwani stated in the release, "Wipro advertises job openings only on its career website, in registered job portals, registered staffing partners and through advertisements in media carrying the Wipro logo and Wipro email ID."
