• Goldstone Launches IPTV Targets Various Channels

  • Goldstone Technologies has signed agreements with 12 new national and international channels for providing live channel content on its Internet Protocol TV (IPTV), which will be launched soon.

    IPTV channels will cover localized languages in India, Europe, China, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

    Goldstone is using a patented technology for triple play services, which will deliver quality video at 600 kbps internet speed. This is expected to be the world's first such service to function on the public internet. It uses a set top box, which is connected to a TV to make live channels, content on demand, and internet browsing available, without using a PC. The digital rights management ensures fully secure delivery of the video addressing concerns of content providers.

    Goldstone has set up a network operating centre in Singapore for delivering the service globally. The company has already signed agreements with several Indian and European channels for global distribution. They also plan to provide features such as movies on demand, serials and educational content, online gaming, etc. Goldstone will also provide a host of value added services such as internet browsing, VOIP, video conferencing, and personalized advertising.

    The channels which are available now with Goldstone IPTV for global markets include: Zee - Miscellaneous - Zee News, Zee Business, Zee Music, Zee TV Asia Pac, Zee Smile, Zee Cinema, Zee Premier, Zee Classic, Zee Bangla, Zee Punjabi, Zee Marathi, Zee Gujarati, India TV-Hindi News, Euro News- News and information, Dan-Dan Music, Dan Cinema & Dan Ozl-Tamil Cinema and Entertainment, Trace TV- Western Music, SS Music-Music/Entertainment, Jaya TV-Tamil Entertainment, ITN-Entertainment-Sinhalese, Lanka TV-Entertainment-Sinhalese, Nepal 1-Entertainment, and PBC-Entertainment Punjabi

    Goldstone has also signed an agreement with BSNL for providing IPTV services to BSNL broadband customers, initially in Hyderabad, and later in other cities. The company is setting up a network operating center in Hyderabad, which will allow subscribers to access IPTV services without an internet bandwidth.

    The global IPTV services are expected to be operational under the brand name 'TV Origin'.
