HP Updates ProActive Defense Security Portfolio
By CXOtoday Staff
Mumbai, Apr 18, 2007

ProCurve Networking by HP announced new and updated products in its ProActive Defense security portfolio to provide customers with reliable network protection and network access control to adapt to existing network environments.

Speaking on the occasion, ProCurve India country head, Subhodeep Bhattacharya said, "ProCurve's ProActive defense strategy offers solutions to fortify security and provide a trusted network infrastructure by combining network immunity, access control, enhanced management functionality; and will offer an affordable solution to enhance security and maximize customers' existing investment of ProCurve switches and third party security appliances."

Bhattacharya claims that the ProCurve Network Immunity Manager software offers specialist capabilities. Network Immunity Manager is a management application to deliver intelligent network threat management, detection and response.

"Fortifying security for enterprises without massive and costly replacement of network infrastructure is a critical focus of ProCurve's Adaptive Networks vision," said Paul Congdon, chief technology officer and security business director, ProCurve Networking by HP.

ProCurve plans to introduce the ProCurve Network Controller 800 to provide endpoint integrity verification. The security solution, expected in the third quarter of 2007, will use ProCurve's proven IDM technology to prevent security breaches, to control users having access to systems and how they connect across both wired and wireless networks.

ProCurve Manager Plus 2.2 provides policy management and enforcement of network performance, information accessibility for solution support and scalability.

ProCurve IDM 2.2, expected to be available in the third quarter of 2007, will provide dynamic integration with Microsoft Active Directory. Customers can improve resource access control and receive reporting capabilities by taking advantage of ProCurve IDM 2.0's extensive functionality, and will receive IDM 2.2 and all updates for free upon availability.
