South Korea-based automobile giant - Hyundai Motor Company has implemented the complete AUTOSAR stack in a electronic control unit (ECU). The company has also announced the implementation has been tested in a vehicle
Hyundai, Hyundai Autonet, and KPIT Cummins commenced on this co-development program about a year back. The AUTOSAR BSW (basic software stack) was jointly developed, integrated, and implemented on a Chassis ECU which was powered by the NEC Electronics' V850 ES/FJ3 microcontroller. According to a statement to the press, the vehicle level testing, including extensive road-tests, were performed at Hyundai Motor Company's Namyang R & D facility in Korea.
Performance has been deemed satisfactory and suitable for production-intent programs. The software development was done using KPIT Cummins proven development methodology and by complying with CMMi Level 5 and AUTOMOTIVE SPICE Level 5 processes.
Dr. Joo Young Sup, CEO and president of Hyundai AUTONET said "AUTOSAR is the emerging global standard and this implementation gives us the necessary edge in the technology arena."
