Ingres Database 9.2 is now certified for integration with the SAP NetWeaver technology platform. The integration certification underlines Ingres as an open source database for business-critical applications.
SAP applications can access the database by using Ingres's interface JDBC Driver 3.0. The integration enables customers to rely Ingres Database for core business applications. For example, customers are now able to compliment business intelligence processes carried out by the SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence module with data from Ingres-based solutions. Likewise, data can be passed into an SAP ERP application-based system, enabling businesses to consolidate information and optimize business processes, according to a statement.
With Ingres, companies no longer need to pay up front licensing fees for the right to use a scalable, available, and performance database platform, the statement said.
