Antivirus software maker Trend Micro has announced the availability of InterScan Gateway Security Appliance in the Indian market. The product is designed for mid-sized organizations looking to protect them at the Internet Gateway level.
InterScan gateway appliance features antivirus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, content filtering and URL filtering capabilities in a single unit. The console blocks such threats as viruses, spyware, spam, phishing, botnet attacks, harmful URLs and inappropriate content automatically and provides a critical layer of security that complements the desktop antivirus.
But unlike UTM (unified threat management) appliances, InterScan appliance sits behind a customer's existing firewall/ VPN solution and fortifies the internet gateway with an extra layer of security.
The appliance comes preconfigured with software, which makes it easier for customers to deploy. According to the vendor, the appliance complements existing firewalls and VPNs and hence can stop outbreaks early before they can inflict serious damage.
InterScan Gateway Security Appliance is currently available in English language and in six different models i.e. IGSA 100, 200, 300, 600, 800, and 1000.
Pricing for the solution starts at Rs.290,000.
