Iomega Corporation, a provider of data storage and protection, has announced the new Iomega StorCenter TM Pro NAS 450r Series with print server capability.
Available in a 1U form factor, the new Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 450r series feature 1 TB and 2 TB models of the rack-mount file server offer protection and sharing of critical data. These utilize Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003 R2, for seamless support for Windows file and print services and standard Windows backup and security applications.
StorCenter Pro NAS 450r storage servers are supported by all standard Windows enterprise backup applications. The 450r storage servers also support mixed computing environments including Windows, Mac, Linux, and UNIX.
Other hardware features on the new NAS 450r include dual Gigabit Ethernet connections, ECC memory, and an Ultra 320 SCSI (VHDC1) connection for high-speed archival backup.
It offers Touch-Free backup software for client PCs with CA BrightStor ARCserve OEM edition software with disaster recovery, version 11.5, along with EMC Retrospect Express software for client backup and recovery.
Client PCs on the network have a choice between continuous backup or scheduled backup to the 450r Series servers.
The servers feature Computer Associates eTrust Antivirus software and EMC Retrospect Express software to enable automatic client-level backup and scheduled backup of desktops, laptops, and workstations.
All Iomega NAS 450r storage servers come with Microsoft Windows Print Server for centralized support and management for up to five network printers, with an upgrade option to support unlimited network printers.

The 1TB and 2TB Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 450r with print storage servers are expected to be available worldwide next month, while a 4 TB StorCenter Pro NAS 450r model is expected to ship later this year.
