  • Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) has announced that Enzen Global Solutions, Bangalore-based Business Consulting and Solutions provider, would provide consulting services on greenhouse gas inventory for greater Bangalore.

KPSCB claims that this is a first-of-its-kind programme initiated by any state pollution control board in India for greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory. The project was flagged off on April 3, 2007, by Dr. H. C. Sharatchandra, Chairman, KSPCB, a renowned authority on GHG Emissions.

Sharatchandra says, "This is a first step towards evaluating emission findings in key sectors and introduction of measures to control the same. I am very passionate about this initiative and I am sure that it will go a long way in the making of a cleaner and greener Bangalore."

Greenhouse Gas emissions from industry, transportation and agriculture play a major role in global warming. Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and three groups of fluorinated gases were the subjects of the Kyoto Protocol.

GHG emission estimates are required in order to comprehend the state and simulate future growth of GHG and work towards sustainability and corrective actions.

Vivek Maladkar, Associate Vice President, Clean Energy Business Unit, Enzen Global Solutions, says, "Greenhouse Gas Management and Reporting is posing new and complex set of challenges to the State Pollution Control Boards. Enzen Global Solutions will help to meet these challenges by delivering streamlined tracking, managing and reporting of direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions. The GHG programme can thus be managed with confidence, giving the granularity needed at the facility level and the enterprise capabilities required at the corporate level."

Satheesh Kumar, CEO, Enzen Global Solutions said, "Enzen is delighted to partner with KSPCB in this initiative and is confident that under the visionary leadership of Dr.H.C.Sharatchandra, the state will be a cleaner and greener state."
