Kingston has introduced the DataTraveler Locker+ USB flash drive for companies of any size to secure mobile data through encryption. The DataTraveler Locker+ is more affordable than the rest of Kingston's flash drives that also offer encryption features. This should make the companies with tighter IT budgets to take another look at securing company data on employees' flash drives.
"Kingston created this drive to address the rise in data loss and theft which has been a growing problem with expensive consequences. This device gives companies a solution that is not only affordable but provides peace of mind in securing mobile data," said Nathan Su, flash memory sales director (APAC region), Kingston.
Data on the Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ is secured with 256-bit hardware-based AES encryption. Access to the drive's contents requires a complex password. Like the Privacy Edition, which is for rugged and meant for enterprises and government agencies, this drive locks down and reformats after 10 incorrect password attempts, reducing the chances of unauthorised access attempts.
The Locker+ supports Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000/Mac OS X v.10.4 - v.10.6 and the 4 GB flash drive is available for Rs. 1,250. Also available is the 8 GB (Rs. 1,850), 16 GB (Rs. 4,850) and 32 GB (Rs. 8,350) flash drive.
