Mistral Makes Ethernet Product Available
By CXOtoday Staff
Mumbai, Mar 22, 2006
Embedded segment specialist Mistral Solutions is making available Curtiss Wright's new 3U CompactPCI (cPCI) SCP/DCP-681 Compact SwitchBlade Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switch/ router for Indian customers.
The 10-port, fully managed, intelligent multi-layer (layer 2/ layer 3) card is available in both air-cooled (SCP) and conduction-cooled (DCP) configurations. It is said to provide up to ten wire-speed 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet interfaces in a single 3U cPCI slot and suitable for architecting system-wide Intra-Platform Networks (IPNs) in weight and space constrained environments.
The SCP/ DCP-681 apparently supports a variety of management interfaces including CLI, Telnet, Web and SNMP that can be used to configure a complete set of protocols and parameters including PBIT, IBIT, CBIT, Layer 2 protocols, Layer 3 (IPv4/v6) protocols, Multicasting, QoS, and Security.
The switch offers several combinations of protocol standards and features such as Secure Memory Erase function, which allows for wiping off unwanted memory.
When combined with SCP/DCP-122/124 3U CompactPCI single board computers, PMC graphics modules, PMC FPGA card, and 3U chassis, the SCP/DCP-681 becomes an integral component in a complete set of 3U CPCI building blocks for Systems Integrators designing small-form factor subsystems, said the company in a statement.
