Cisco has appointed Naresh Wadhwa as president and country manager of its India and SAARC region. He'll report directly to Owen Chan, president (Asia Pacific Operations) of Cisco.
Wadhwa has been with Cisco for almost 10 years and was recently based in Hong Kong, heading the marketing organization in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to Cisco, he worked with 3Com Asia and Wipro Infotech in India. He was responsible for channels, commercial, sales operations, and marketing across North Asia based out of Hong Kong.
Before Wadhwa moved to Hong Kong in 2004, he was the sales leader for the western region of India, overseeing Cisco's largest region in the country.
"We're very pleased that Wadhwa will assume the role of president for India and SAARC Operations. A long-time Cisco veteran, he is impressive and diverse skills are suited to this important leadership role. India being a strategic market for Cisco, he is the right leader to steer our team in accelerating the growth momentum in India," said Chan.
Wadhwa is an industry veteran with over 18 years of experience in the technology industry. He joined Cisco India in 1998 as a sales manager for the company's enterprise, commercial, and IT services business. He successfully grew the business four-fold.
Subsequently, he architected several strategic wins for Cisco when he managed the service provider business in India.
Wadhwa has a degree in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University.
