New Technology for Concise 3D Representation
By Sharmee Roy
Mumbai, Aug 5, 2008
3D Solid Compression (3DSoC) a 3D modeling company, has developed Virtual Interactive Solid (VIS).
This technology is 100 times smaller than some of the CAD formats. It helps enterprises to create, organize, distribute and maintain technical data for service operations. It is applicable in the 3D publishing, visualization and internet applications.
Krishnan Ramaswami, co-founder and CTO of 3DSoC said, "Enterprises can benefit from this technology in the form of technical e-manuals and catalogues."
It is focusing on verticals like manufacturing, heavy engineering, automobiles and the education. It is also helping corporates in these sectors to develop 3D advertisements and product demos.
3DSoC is planning to introduce this technology on mobile platform. It is being given the final touches at the company's R&D and development, and will be commercially available in one month, said Ramaswami.
The company has signed 12 customers over nine months. Some of them are Bajaj Auto, Triveni Engeneering and Sundaram Clayton. The company would be reaching out to the customers directly as well as through channel partners. It is right now in the process of appointing partners.
Ramaswami said, "We are currently focusing on the Indian market. Our target is to reach 100 customers by March 2009 and in terms of the mobile platform, we want our application to be running on 5,00,000 mobiles."
In future, 3DSoc has plans to enter the healthcare and the architectural industries.
