Customers of Airtel will now receive free access to the company's Google Apps messaging and collaboration suite, through www.airtellive.com. The suite includes Gmail email services, Google Docs for documents, spreadsheets and presentations, Google Calendar shared calendaring, and the Start Page feature for creating a customizable home page.
Airtel Telemedia Services, the private broadband and telephone service provider from India, has launched www.airtellive.com - an all-in-one internet portal for its customers. This is the first Indian Telco website, to make Google products officially available on its portal.
The services will be co-branded and powered by Google and Airtel broadband. Airtel has also partnered with content providers like shaadi.com, 24x7guru, naukri.com etc., amongst others to offer exclusive deals and discounts on the portal.
Detailing on the new venture, Atul Bindal, president of Airtel Telemedia Services said, "(The website) www.airtellive.com is a milestone in Airtel's broadband strategy, and it builds upon the current broadband ecosystem infrastructure - to establish an Internet destination for web applications. It underlines our commitment towards simplifying and adding value to our broadband customers, and driving the adoption of broadband in the country."
This collaboration is expected to give customers easy access to Google's web applications over Airtel's broadband network. Users are now supposed to benefit from both companies' product innovation to receive the best customer experience.
