CA today announced that after serving as managing director of CA India and SAARC for six of his 11 years with the company, business veteran Ninad Karpe is leaving CA to take up the role of CEO in an Indian organization.
CA said it has already launched its recruiting efforts to explore India's huge talent pool of business leaders for a successor to Karpe, as well as to seek applications from within the Company. It is expected that CA will name an interim country manager in the very near future.
Karpe has been associated with CA India since inception in 1997 and worked as executive director to establish a substantial in-country presence for the company, as well as to manage issues in the areas of marketing, PR, technical services, HR operations, and finance.
More recently as managing director, his responsibilities included driving adoption of CA's technologies in the marketplace and strengthening strategic partnerships in India.
Gavin Selkirk, Corporate SVP and GM of CA Asia Pacific & Japan said, "On behalf of the entire company, I would like to thank Ninad for his enormous contribution to CA in this crucially-important geography and wish him the very best in his new role. CA has been fortunate to have had such a high-calibre professional in the post. As such, he has led the business to strong growth by building a best-in-class sales organization based on a direct channel plus strategic relationships with industry-heavyweight partners and India's top systems integrators. We will continue to aggressively build our India business by focusing on delivering outstanding management software that enables our customers to get more out of their IT"
Before joining CA, Karpe was a consultant for some 13 years and specialized in assisting companies seeking to invest in India. This involved comprehensive studies relating to the nation's post-liberalization landscape, assessment of market conditions and creation of effective India-entry strategies.
In addition to appearing at management colleges to lecture on business strategy, Karpe has written books on the subject, as well as on taxation and foreign investment in India, and continues to contribute to newspapers, magazines and journals as an expert.
