Oracle has launched a portfolio of over 80 industry-specific' application solutions to address the needs of companies in 30 industry segments including industrial manufacturing, retail, life sciences, engineering, construction, professional services, financial services, government, education and healthcare.
The launch is a part of the company's global Accelerate program, and is aimed at penetrating Oracle's reach in the Indian SMB. The solutions are a bundle of the company's existing products that have been integrated on a single platform after studying customized needs of the SMB sector, said, Adrian Johnston, vice president, application product solutions, Asia Pacific.
A news release said here that Oracle applications including e-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards Enterprise One and Siebel are combined with rapid implementation technologies like Oracle Business Accelerators for efficient deployments, faster returns on investments and reduced risks. Accelerate would provide SMBs industry-specific processes and key business operations such as finance and accounts management, human resources, supply chain and customer relationships.
The company worked with 50 partners to design, package and price the new products. "The move is a part of our global Accelerate program to meet diverse IT requirements of SMBs by combining partner expertise with Oracle applications and technology solutions," Johnston said.
He added, "As our applications are based on open standards, they provide a superior alternative to other proprietary business systems by reducing complexity and total cost of ownership. Businesses will be able to build flexible, adaptable IT infrastructure and adopt modern technologies such as service oriented architecture, enabling SMBs to respond quickly to new business opportunities, customer demands and changes in operating systems."
