Siemens AG has signed a five-year, 80 million euro MPLS-based IP VPN contract with Orange Business Services to migrate a large portion of its worldwide network to Orange. Orange Business Services is now designing and migrating 1,100-site Siemens Wide Area Network (WAN) across 70 countries in Africa, Asia, Southwest Europe and North & Latin America.
Helmut Reisinger, senior vice president for Europe at Orange Business Services said, "We are very happy that we are able to welcome Siemens to our prestigious list of global customers as our global footprint is very well aligned with Siemens' global set-up. Security and availability of the infrastructure are critically important, especially for the world's leading companies. Winning this deal underlines the success of our own business strategy, as well as the quality and competence of our employees."
Siemens was looking for a flexible solution to support its global reach. It was in search of a reliable and broad portfolio of services, which provided the ability to support future convergence over the network. It chose Orange Business Services. The high security standards, quality of service, local support and attractive price-performance ratio of the Orange solution were the overriding reasons for Siemens' decision.
Norbert Kleinjohann, CIO of Siemens said, "Orange Services provides us with a global, future-oriented network at an attractive price."
