  • PC Tools is offering its AntiVirus Internet security software free to consumers. The free version will provide onguard protection, updates, virus quarantines and restore detected items, and log of file scans.

According to Michael Greene, VP- product strategy, PC Tools, "We know many consumers are being misled by rogue security companies providing bogus virus threat solutions. They are motivated to download these dubious products only to find they have loaded new viruses and spyware into their computers. Our aim is to begin the New Year for our consumers with added confidence so that their security needs are met when they surf the Internet."

The paid version of PC Tools AntiVirus will receive high-speed updates, a 24/7 support and phone assistance for a cost of $29.95.

The software can be downloaded from http://www.pctools.com/free-antivirus/.

AVs r okay; however, the golden advice comes from the grandma : "DO NOT ACCEPT A CANDY FROM A STRANGER". This advice takes considerable care of the cyberian beyond any doubt.
