Safend Enters Indian Enterprise Space
By CXOtoday Staff
Mumbai, Dec 15, 2006

Safend, an international leader in endpoint security, is planning to tap the Indian enterprise market. Its recent tie up with Mumbai-based SecureSynergy would help the company expand its base in the pharma, financial services and the insurance sector, besides others. It does not have any client base in India at present.

Its international clients include Baptist Memorial Hospital, Connecticure Health Insurance, Philadelphia Stock Exchange, Transkaryotic Therapies Inc (TKT) Biopharmaceutical, Maclay Murrary & Spens, Pechanga Casino & Resort among others.

The company entered India on December 5; however, it does not have any plans to open offices here. Sources said that Secure Synergy will market Safend products on an exclusive basis.

"Security breaches resulting from the mismanagement of portable communications devices such as laptops and smartphones continue to make headlines, resulting in increased demand for comprehensive, best-of-breed solutions to protect enterprise data," said Anil Menon, CEO, SecureSynergy. "Safend's award-winning products answer this need and their dedication to the channel makes this partnership a perfect fit. We intend to set up a strong channel organization to facilitate Safend's technology adoption across Indian enterprises."

Safend Protector secures enterprise endpoints from data leakage and penetration through physical and wireless ports including USB, FireWire, WiFi, Bluetooth, Infrared (IrDA), and CD/DVDs as well as providing data encryption, anti-network bridging capabilities, and protection from hardware key logging devices. Its companion product, Safend Auditor, monitors and documents devices that are or have been connected to network endpoints, offering visibility and control of endpoint vulnerabilities.

"As more companies expand into India, securing corporate assets will continue to be a concern," said Gil Sever, CEO, Safend. "This is a wonderful opportunity to bring our solutions to India. SecureSynergy's commitment to providing superior value to their clients, their exceptional customer service, and their innovative product offerings make them an ideal partner."
