  • A leading player in consumer internet and enterprise services in India, Sify Limited has set up its third data centre to meet the needs of growing clientele both at home and abroad in Bangalore, conforming to Level 4 global data center standards.

Raju Vegesna, Sify CEO & MD, said, "Our decision to invest in third data centre is based on the growing demand for primary and disaster recovery centers, and a strong pipeline from customers, both in India and the US. This centre puts us in a better position to deliver next generation services and solutions, and catering to all target verticals."

The other two data centres are located at Vashi Infotech Park in Mumbai and Tidel Park in Chennai. Sify has signed up with Verseon, a San Mateo based life-sciences start-up, to provide remote management services out of the new data center.

Aditya Prakash, CEO, Verseon, claimed, "We chose Sify because of their world class tier 4 data center facilities and service capabilities."

Spread across 40,000 sq. ft. space, the centre is connected to Sify's global network, equipped with redundant power feeds, precision air conditioning systems, network connectivity fabric and fire suppression systems. The company is aiming to provide services ranging from customized mailing solutions, web hosting, managed hosting of customers' servers as well as collocation services spread across the globe.
