By CXOtoday Staff
Mumbai, Jun 11, 2007

Financial Information Network and Operations (FINO), a Mumbai-based biometric enabled smart card technology solutions provider, announced the launch of smart cards for District Administration of Cuddalore.

According to the release, FINO smart card services will be used by District Administration of Cuddalore along with Indian Bank for disbursement of funds under various central and state level schemes, like National Rural Employment Guarentee Act (NREGA), Old Age Pension (OAP), etc. for carrying out transactions on FINO smart cards and POT Devices.

Tarun Agarwal, vice president of FINO said, "It is indeed a privilege for FINO to roll out its services for the District Administration of Cuddolore. This is the first step towards extending such services towards the population of the rural areas in Tamil Nadu. This initiative will certainly ease & simplify lives of rural inhabitants of Cuddalore District, in Tamil Nadu."

The smart card was jointly issued to the beneficiaries Stalin, rural development minister of Tamil Nadu Government and Ratnoo, district collector of Cuddalore at Virudhachalam. FINO, a sectoral platform has been created to meet the needs of banking & MFI sectors targeting the rural masses in India.
