How effective is the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concept in a progressive company? What kind of mindset change is being witnessed in the industry? How to get optimum result through SOA implementation? A recent survey result, conducted by AppLabs has highlighted answers to these questions, along with many other hidden facts.
AppLabs' purpose was to showcase the growing interest in SOA adoption across the IT industry. The research sampled IT professionals from Fortune 500 companies, focused on four key areas of SOA - Planning, Adoption, Benefits & Risks, Quality Management, and Testing issues.
The result of the survey confirms the wide adoption of SOA in organizations, and that it is fast becoming the default choice for integration for both internal and external business applications.
According to Graham Smith, head (client engagement) of AppLabs Europe, 52% of IT companies are unaware of the risks associated with implementing an SOA system.
"While 38% of organizations are already on track with their SOA implementation, 43% are still in the planning stage. The results clearly indicate the adoption of SOA for both technology and business reasons." conveys Doc Parghi, senior vice president of AppLabs USA.
