Sybase 365 Acquires C&W's MMS Hubbing Service

In a move that can potentially place Sybase 365 (a wholly owned subsidiary of Sybase), among the larger players in the MMS and SMS hub space, the company has acquired inter operators MMS Hubbing service of Cable & Wireless.

The company has also bagged exclusive worldwide rights to market and sell Cable&Wireless mobile data roaming services. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

"Messaging is the convergent platform for enterprise applications and a core part of our Unwired Enterprise strategy. Now, Enterprises will be able to offer their customers access to all types of information anytime, anywhere, across any carrier network through a single platform," said John Chen, chairman, CEO, and president of Sybase in a press statement.


The management of MMS Hub will be integrated with Sybase 365, according to the statement.
