Tally Enhances Product Line With Shoper Release

Tally India Pvt. Ltd. has strengthened its presence in the retail sector by offering a portfolio of retail solutions for small, medium and large retailers, 'Shoper'. Tally claims that it has the largest selling retail software in India.
With the new addition, the company said that it has capitalized on a 3 lakh customers base across India by offering specialized solutions for retailers looking to automate specific business processes like point-of-sale, warehouse management and distribution.
With the acquisition of Bangalore-based Vedha Automation, the developers of the Shoper Retail Management system, Tally Solutions has leveraged on its acquisitions and has over 16 years of experience.
The retail team at Tally Solutions is about 65 people strong with consultants, developers, implementers and round-the-clock support with a help desk. The company has rolled out specific products for different retail segments which cater to various retail store management needs.
The new Shoper 7.2, that currently comes in the POS and head office editions will perform store level functions like billing, cash accounting, item classification, merchandising and inventory management, bar coding and sales promotions.
Tally claimed that Shoper HO (head office) would complement this function in a chain store by providing data consolidation, MIS, reporting, budgeting and planning and catalogue management features.
The company said that a successful pilot project on bringing RFID to their retail products is underway and is currently working on bringing the technology at the doorsteps of lots of retail outlets.
The Tally Enterprise edition will have a clear retail focus by capturing critical elements of a typical retail enterprise.
Shoaib Ahmed, VP - Sales, Tally Solutions added, "Tally Solutions is in a strong position to offer a complete portfolio of retail products. Currently, our presence is intensified on business accounting software, ERP and education services."
"With the addition of retail technology solutions we are now able to offer complimentary and comprehensive solutions for all our retail customers," claimed Ahmed.
Shoper 7.2 is a retailing and distribution automation solution matching needs for the apparel and footwear segments, besides books, toys, gifts, white goods and novelty item stores. The end-to-end solution caters to every aspect of a retail business; right from billing, inventory, merchandising and pricing to barcode generation, stock transfer, taxation and customer database.
Some of Tally's clients nationwide include: Adidas, Allen Solly, Arrow, Raymonds, Soles, Nike, Van Heusen, and Reebok.
On Tally 8.1 platform, products like TallyChemist for medical shops will soon be launched and subsequently solutions for different retail segments like grocery and restaurants are expected to follow.
