Tata Communications (TCom) has signed a global agreement with data center operations supplier Telx. The companies will leverage data center footprints to offer Telx customers one stop shop for co-location services in North America, India, EMEA and APAC. Telx will act as a single point for contact for contractual arrangements, according to a statement.
The two companies will work together to develop a portfolio of managed services to support their customers. They will also package joint solutions including Tata Communication's managed security, data center services, and transformation services to enhance capabilities offered to their shared clients.
According to the statement, TCom customers requiring US data center space or access to Telx Internet Exchange (TIE) can do so in Telx facilities by using TCom account management team as facilitator.
"This agreement enables TCom to leverage its position in the global communications market while extending its reach in the US through the local facilities of Telx," said Vinod Kumar, president and COO of Tata Communications. "Telx with its local market expertise and densely populated co-location facilities matches our commitment to deliver solutions to our customers in the United States."
