TeamLease Team-up with Sage Accpac ERP
By CXOtoday Staff
Mumbai, Nov 29, 2007
Sage Software India has completed the implementation of Sage Accpac ERP at TeamLease Services.
With this deployment, TeamLease's accounting and financial processes will get automated. Sage's Bangalore-based partner New-Age Business Consultants has implemented the solution.
Business challenge
TeamLease was backed by Tally for its accounting. But, Tally failed to meet TeamLease's transaction volume growth of 2000 customer invoices and salary journal entries of 60,000 payments per month.
This restricted the entries just allowing summary transactions into Tally and needed multiple Excel files for administration. Further, all MIS had to be prepared outside the system in Excel.
Solution
In October 2006, TeamLease felt the need for a robust and scaleable solution for its accounting and financial processes. Hence, Sage Accpac ERP was selected to meet the needs of TeamLease.
Sage Accpac ERP offers following advantages
* Ability to bring in all transactions at line item level and to scale further.
* Quick implementation, configuration, training, testing, and hand-holding while going live.
* Ease of use and maintenance.
* Ability to import large amounts of data from Excel files.
* Ability to generate flexible MIS based on SBU, Branch, Department, etc.
* Ability to configure and provide reports to meet Indian statutory requirements - service tax, TDS, etc.
* Ability to add other integrated modules for finance and operations.
TeamLease opted for Sage Accpac ERP Financial modules of General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and Sage Accpac Insight in December 2006. While the deployment began in January 2007, TeamLease went live on April 1, 2007, i.e. within 3 months.
MIS for May 2007 was generated fully through Sage Accpac Insight and Sage Accpac ERP customized reports.
After successfully using the application for 7 months, TeamLease is now considering additional modules of Sage Accpac to cover requirements of bank reconciliations, TDS, and fixed assets and operations modules of purchase orders and purchase order approval.
N. Venkatraman, chief financial officer of Team Lease Services, stated, "While evaluating an ERP solution, we were looking at some specific attributes like quick product implementation, flexibility of use, powerful reporting capabilities, and cost effectiveness. Also, since the users were to migrate from a basic accounting application like Tally, we were looking for a system which is easy to use and can be quickly adopted by the end users. Sage Accpac ERP met all these requirements."
