  • Telecom operator Bharti Airtel has entered into an agreement with Selecto Systems - as a partner - to provide telecom network infrastructure and services for its IT Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Haryana Technology Park (HTP).

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the companies. Under the agreement, Airtel has been assigned as the "Preferred Telecom Service Provider" and will be given preferential rights to establish and provide telecom infrastructure and services at the HTP. HTP is a notified SEZ promoted by Selecto Systems and technically assisted by Paharpur Business Centre & Software Technology Incubator Park (PBCTM-STIP).

Airtel will also address the global connectivity requirements of IT/ITeS majors owing to its widespread international footprint and access to multiple cable systems.

According to Milan Rao, chief operating officer (North) of Airtel Enterprise Services, the partnership aims to ensure that customers at the SEZ will be offered the best telecom services. Airtel would ensure providing a sound communication backbone to international clients and occupants at HTP, making it the preferred destination for IT/ITeS firms in the NCR.

By the end of January 2010, it's expected that 1.65 million square feet HTP building will have the capacity to serve 30,000 users from the IT, KPO, and BPO sectors.
