Three-day Network Convergence Summit in Delhi|

Key international telecom experts, network operators, systems and software companies, researchers from universities and industry, and systems integrators will gather in New-Delhi from November 6th to 9th for Networks 2006, the 12th International Telecommunications Network Strategy and Planning Symposium. The symposium will focus on the challenges involved in planning networks to deliver on the promise of convergence, and Next Generation Networks (NGNs).
NGN, 3G, IMS, IPTV, WIMAX and WLL, from fixed to mobile networks and from network planning to migration, evolution and convergence, from technical to business evaluation, Networks 2006 will cover a wide variety of topics that are currently on the agenda of the Telcos globally, including India.
General Chairperson of Networks 2006, Dr. Rati Thanawala, vice president, Network Planning, Performance, and Economic Analysis, Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, says, "We are living in very interesting times now. The revolution we had been hoping for is finally taking place. Mobile and fixed operators are moving to Next Generation Networks. Hundreds of trials are underway. Many operators have made recent commitments, very significant investments towards their future vision, often reducing spending drastically on extensions to current infrastructure to allow spending on new platforms. Networks 2006 provides a platform for exploration of diverse perspectives and sharing of leading-edge results in network strategy, planning, operations, management and design."
Networks 2006 will feature high-tech presentations, latest research papers and panel discussions wherein international experts will present their latest findings and showcase their learning experiences in network strategy, planning, operations, management and design.
The event is being organized by VDE - the German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies. Networks 2006 has been co-partnered by pioneers in the field of telecom industry, Lucent Technologies, Alcatel, Deutsche Telekom, Siemens with technical support from IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), IEEE Communications Society, EUREL (Convention of National Societies of Electrical Engineer of Europe).
