Security major Trend Micro has announced the InterScan Messaging Security Appliance, an enterprise solution that addresses email-based threats and content compliance.
The solution offers email security on software and appliances, and strives to comprehensively protect the gateway. It provides anti-spam and anti-phishing protection, and the IntelliTrap technology helps combat zero-day threats and provides flexible content filtering to support regulatory compliance and prevent loss of confidential information.
All these protective features are integrated and can be centrally managed using its web-based appliance console.
Spam is addressed with Spam Prevention Solution - a dual-layer spam protection. The initial layer of protection is provided by a new version of the Trend Micro Network Reputation Services, which aims to stop mail-based threats at connection layer before they reach the gateway. It allows customers to set email blacklist/ whitelist policies.
At the second layer, a powerful composite engine filters spam and phishing emails at the gateway through advanced heuristics, statistical analysis, signature filtering, whitelists, blacklists, and other anti-spam techniques.
The solution is one of the messaging security components of Trend Micro's Enterprise Protection Strategy, a framework of products meant to secure the network at all entry points - from the gateway to the desktop.
"With the release of InterScan Messaging Security Appliance, Trend Micro is combining its best-of-breed email security with performance advantages of a hardware appliance to specifically address customers with exceptionally demanding network requirements," said Max Cheng, general manager Trend Micro enterprise business operations.
Starting at $20,180, the globally available product also has models that support 25,000 users per device. It is expected to be available in India shortly.
