By CXOtoday Staff
Mumbai, Mar 14, 2007

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL), a provider of international communication solutions today announced the launch of ReadyAccess Business Messaging & Services in alliance with Microsoft.

The association marks the first joint market development initiative of its kind for Microsoft India. The move is targeted towards a growing SME market in India, and the service will provide secure, enterprise grade messaging capabilities with quick and easy deployment on a pay per use basis, without the need for high up-front capital investments.

The service safeguards against technology changes and obsolescence. Using this service, customers will be able to securely exchange conventional email and files, as well as share calendars and task lists, and Windows Mobile Access, to make it a truly collaborative experience.

VSNL's VP Managed Services, Abid Qadiri, says, "Messaging is the most critical and widely used business application across all customer segments today. Enterprises are facing increasing challenges of maintaining consistent service levels, to reduce costs of ownership, managing stringent compliance requirements and pressures of consolidation and optimization of their infrastructure as well as their resources."

Jacques Bablon, Partner Director, Communication Sector, APAC Region, Microsoft says, "We are delighted to work with VSNL on this strategic initiative. VSNL already has demonstrated capabilities in successfully launching global service offerings, the depth and exponential growth of its enterprise customer base in India, and its ability to flexibly cater to the needs of internationally expanding organizations."

ReadyAccess offers message security and hygiene with an enterprise grade Anti-spam and Anti-Virus Solution, as well as on demand storage services. The service will provide SMEs in India with a service platform to be the foundation for integrated applications such as Share Point, expanded mobility with Hosted Blackberry Enterprise services and Instant Messaging in a phased rollout.

The service will be offered by the Tata Indicom Enterprise Business Unit (TIEBU) sales force, the enterprise business division of VSNL claiming to serve more than 5000 large and mid-market enterprise customers in India that offers a range of products and services that include IPLC, NPLC, MPLS-VPN, Manged Voice Services, Data Center and hosting services.

It will be offered globally through VSNL International, the international arm of VSNL as well as by more than 170 channel partners across all regions and vertical industries of India. VSNL will be offering Adaptive Messaging, an end-to-end solution targeted at global MNCs and larger enterprises to seek an out-tasked messaging and collaboration service with full operations and management support.

The company added that the IT spend is estimated to be around 26,100 crore with 44% coming from the SME segment. Pricing for India would vary from Rs.150-9000 depending on the services chosen.
