Wipro Technologies has developed Wipro Desktop Deployment, an end-to-end desktop deployment solution that provides cost-effective and accelerated compatibility testing methodology for migration of applications to Windows 7 platform.
This solution is meant to help customers facilitate Windows 7 readiness, remediate gaps by leveraging Microsoft products and tools like the Application Compatibility Toolkit (ACT), Microsoft SQL Server, and the Microsoft Access conversion kit. The solution is also meant to help customers with their Windows 7 deployments by leveraging third party application packaging tools.
Wipro has deployed this desktop deployment solution in more than 20 large and mid-size enterprises consistently seeing more than 20% cost benefits for the customers.
Migration to Windows 7 will be a reality for most of Wipro's customers, says the company. With Windows XP approaching its end of life, and many of Wipro's enterprise customers having chosen to skip Windows Vista, the Windows 7 release promises to deliver new features and benefits that include improved collaboration, added security, and improved flexibility for the global workforce, enhanced manageability and ease of use, adds Wipro.
