Wipro to Implement CBS at P&S Bank|

Punjab & Sind Bank has reportedly appointed IT major Wipro to deploy Infosys Finacle's core banking solutions (CBS).
The contract is in the final stages of finalization, it is understood. P&S Bank is the only public-sector bank that is yet to implement CBS.
Punjab & Sind Bank has received special dispensation from the Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) on appointing Wipro without calling for fresh bidding after the exit of Satyam, as Wipro was selected as the second best bidder then.
P&S Bank, which has about 900 branches, plans to bring 500 branches on CBS platform in the first phase. The bank is likely to launch pilot project at select branches before implementing it across all branches.
