  • Wipro Infotech-the India, Middle East, and Asia Pacific IT business of Wipro-has tied up with Apple Computer International to sell the entire range of Apple products in India.

    Wipro Personal Computing Business will market the complete Apple range of products, which includes the MacBook and MacBook Pro range of notebooks; Mac range of desktops including iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Pro; Xserve servers & Xserve RAID storage products; and the entire range of iPod digital players.

    Wipro's service and support network is wide spread across India with offices in 24 locations, and its partner network covers more than 200 locations. Additionally, this is supported by Wipro's service network presence in 174 locations across the country.

    Wipro is creating a new specialized team to address the market for the Apple range of products. This new entity will address target customers in enterprise and SMB Segments.

    i think it's really great that Wipro is taking this step of bringing in the Apple range of products. People are only not familiar with the features that Apple offers. I think the partnership between Mr. Steve Jobs and Mr. Aziz Premji, there's no stopping the growth of both the companies. Not to mention the benifit that the Indian public will achieve!

    Apple needs more focus if they really want to be numro uno in India. Looks like they depend heavily on iPod sales in India. their visiablity is zero and their service toll free number is quite ineffective.
