Acer's New Desktop Powered By Intel Dual-Core Chip

Acer recently announced the launch of its new business desktop, the Acer Veriton 6800, powered by the Intel Pentium D processor.

The Acer Veriton 6800 is suitable for any office environment and comes equipped with superior security features, a user-friendly recovery tool and the Acer eManager and Acer eSettings.

The dual core technology enables users to run multiple demanding applications. The Intel Pentium D processor also allows users to perform multiple tasks such as digital rendering and gaming seamlessly while running background tasks.

Commenting on the launch, Shishir Singh, product manager - enterprise product group, Acer India Pvt Ltd., said, “Dual-core processing allows for true simultaneous computing and multi-tasking so users can access and enjoy the full feature functionality while running simultaneous applications. We foresee strong demand from the enterprise segment, and replacement and expansion churn in the market should assist in driving shipments sales for us.”

The Veriton 6800 is equipped with a System Memory, which supports up to 4GB of DDR2 400/533/667 RAM. Also integrated is graphics capability with DVMT 3.0 and a 16X slot.

The desktop is equipped with two external 5.25″ drive bays and six 3.5″ drive bays (four internal, two external). The Veriton 6800 has two PS/2 ports, one Ethernet (RJ-45) port, one Serial port, one VGA port, one parallel port, six audio jacks and eight USB 2.0 ports. Well equipped for I/O expansion; the Veriton 6800 also has two PCI slots.

The desktop also comes equipped with additional features like a USB multimedia keyboard, embedded Intel HD Audio CODEC audio system and an Acer eLock and intrusion alert.

The Acer Veriton 6800 is priced at Rs 45, 990 and available through all Acer channel partners.
