Adobe Systems announced that it has added major updates to its Web conferencing solution — Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro. The solution enables organizations to provide rich communication and collaboration experiences for their employees, partners and customers. Organizations can now improve interactions through more collaborative meetings, training sessions, and Web seminars.

According to Adobe, Acrobat Connect Pro is easy to use, technically flexible, secure and fits seamlessly within an organisation’s IT infrastructure. The new version of Acrobat Connect Pro is designed to integrate with any audio conferencing provider — this allows organisations to leverage existing investments. Telephone audio can be recorded along with a Web conference and streamed to VoIP-only meeting participants.

Advanced integrated audio teleconferencing capabilities include call controls, participant management and synchronised recording. Adobe has also integrated InterCall with Connect Pro. Intercall is supposed to be the world’s largest conferencing and collaboration services provider. This integration will enable customers the ability to deploy Acrobat Connect Pro with InterCall audio conferencing.

Webinar capacity has been increased to connect up to 80,000 participants in massive sessions that can incorporate rich media demonstrations, live and recorded video and interactivity. This kind of capacity will even facilitate large marketing events and product launches, global meetings and eLearning programs.

Enhancements also include greater security and regulation compliance. New administrative tools allow customers to define which applications can be ’screen-shared’ and users can collaborate without the risk of an inadvertent security breach.

Connect Pro 7.5 also has native support of PDF, advanced document controls, improved workflow and the ability to hold Acrobat Connect Pro meetings directly from Lotus Notes. It is also certified to run on VMware infrastructure. To know more about the additions to the new version, visit:

In addition to the current hosted and on-premise deployment options, Acrobat Connect Pro will also be available as a managed service. This offering will enable customers to outsource IT support and still derive the same benefits as the existing options.

Acrobat Connect Pro is available immediately on a hosted, on-premise or managed-service basis, in a range of languages. Adobe is also working on Acrobat Connect Pro Mobile application, which is meant to enable participation from mobile devices. Adobe is said to be working to provide support first to the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.
