Boomtrain Buys India's Nudgespot To Expand AI Footprint In APAC

Acquisition Boomtrain acquired its partner, India based Nudgespot, that is known for its custom made platform which helps business and their customers interact with one another. Boomtrain, an AI driven marketing platform creator, will now be able to merge its expertise with the Indian company to help develop a seamless experience for businesses to communicate with customers and visitors on websites and in mobile apps. The two companies had partnered nine months ago, when they co-developed a product combining the core capabilities of each other and now the acquisition deal has gone through, reported Business Wire India. The terms have not been disclosed. 

“The acquisition of Nudgespot will accelerate our strategy to enable AI-powered communications between businesses and their customers,” said Nick Edwards, the CEO and founder of Boomtrain. He then added his inputs with regards to the product saying, “This is the first productized messaging application that will be fully integrated into a marketing suite. This gives marketers the ability to incorporate multi-channel chat functionality, combined with our artificial intelligence platform, to facilitate personalized, scalable conversations with their customers.”

“Nudgespot and Boomtrain are pushing the envelope when it comes to bi-directional messaging technologies,” said Raveen Sastry, co-founder of Nudgespot while speaking about the partnership. Focusing on the capabilities which will converge post the deal, he said, “Teaming up with Boomtrain will continue to extend our offering to more businesses in need of advanced, easy-to-use B2C messaging solutions, powered by advanced artificial intelligence.” For those that may recall, Sastry was previously a founder of Myntra Design Pvt Ltd, which was acquired in 2014 by Flipkart for USD 330 million.

With the addition of Nudgespot, Boomtrain significantly expands its APAC business. Together, Boomtrain and Nudgespot will have 70 people in offices located in San Francisco and Bangalore, and will continue to expand its footprint globally. Integration of operations began on August 1, 2016. The teams will continue to collaborate to add more functionality to Boomtrain Messenger during its beta program.
