CSI announces ‘CSI 2011 Awards for Excellence in IT’
Computer Society of India (CSI) the largest industry association for Information Technology (IT) in India has announced the ‘CSI 2011 Awards for Excellence in IT’. The award aims to recognize innovations and indigenous developments in the field of Information Technology in India and would be presented during a national event in Ahmedabad on 2nd December 2011. CSI Awards for Excellence in IT are instituted to acknowledge and motivate individuals and organizations working in the field. The CSI 2011 Awards for Excellence in IT are divided into seven categories Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) Product Manufacturing Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Gaming & Entertainment Human Resource Development through Education Food and Beverage, Retail & Consumer Goods Media & Journalism CSI is inviting nominations from the sectors under the criteria viz. a) Criticality of IT Usage, b) Improvement of Customer Service, c) Innovation, d) Return on Investment, e) Quality of management and f) Impact: Organizations/ Society / Green IT / CSR. The selection committee for the CSI 2011 Awards for Excellence in IT comprises of Senior CSI members, renowned industrialists & academicians and well known practioners of Information Technology. The award winning organizations/people will demonstrate their projects during 46th Annual National Convention of Computer Society of India-CSI 2011, scheduled for December 1 – 2, 2011 in Ahmadabad. “‘CSI 2011 Awards for Excellence in IT’ is an initiative of CSI to motivate individuals and companies towards innovations, thus we aim to recognize the role models of the industry. I welcome all the personnel and experts to participate and demonstrate the uniqueness of their IT usage during “CSI 2011 Awards for Excellence in IT”, said M.D. Agrawal, President of CSI. The Indian IT industry recorded 19% growth in revenues in the 2010-11 financial years to the tune of $96.1 billion. The growth is a significant recovery for the industry, which recorded just 8 per cent growth in 2009-10 in the wake of the global recession in 2008, which made both global and Indian companies cut back on their IT spending. The CSI Awards for Excellence in IT were instituted in 1999, and over the past 12 years have set high standards for innovation in Indian IT industry. This year’s awards have been constituted with an aims to honor and motivate individuals and organizations to excel in IT usage. Each Sector of participation carries a cash award of Rs. 1.00 lakh for the winner and other attractive prizes for the Runners up.
