Event Report: Flexibility @ the speed of growth

CXOtoday Events Today’s interconnected and competitive landscape has made it necessary for midsize companies to enhance enterprise agility and minimize IT spend at the same time. For instance, SAP ERP is the de facto business platform for most large enterprises. However, economic constraints limit midsize firms to access such best-in-class business applications. But with the onset of SAP ERP application being available on a Software as a Service (SaaS) model this is all set o change. In a bid to understand more about the benefits of using SAP ERP on a SaaS model, CXOtoday.com in partnership with Wipro and SAP held events titled “Flexibility @ the speed of growth,” in the cities of Jaipur and Ahmedabad.

The events, which had an overwhelming response, were largely attended by IT decision makers from the mid-market companies. At these events, two domain experts from Wipro and one from SAP, shared their thoughts using SAP ERP on the cloud.

Jaipur
The first speaker at the Jaipur event was Sumit Goswami, Practice Partner – Business Advisory Service. In this session, Goswami explained how the he and his team from Wipro evaluate a businesses processes and present the findings to the top management of the company, based on which decisions to improve processes can be made.

The second speaker for the evening, Dheeraj Malhotra, Practice Manager – Cloud Computing, Wipro Infotech, gave the audience an overview of cloud computing and how this technology enables SMEs to access the best in class technologies at lower costs. Malhotra explained about the SAP ERP solution offered through the SaaS model exclusively by Wipro in India. He further mentioned about Wipro’s datacenters located at Greater Noida, which services customers based out of north India.

The last session for the evening was by Saurabh Tandon, Business Manager - North Region, SAP India who explained the benefits of SAP ERP and how SAP has helped hundreds of companies, most of which are SMEs, worldwide to be more productive and streamline their processes.

Ahmedabad
The first speaker at the Ahmedabad event was Ripu Daman Singh, SME Solution Center Lead - India at SAP India, who explained that the primary object of every firm is growth. If a company fails to grow it has the threat of being bought over by competition or even worse being wiped out by competition. Singh further explained in such a scenario it is necessary to have a reliable ERP such as SAP in place, which can not only help businesses manage their various departments, but also enables them to grow. Singh also added that SAP has thousands of companies worldwide using their products, a majority of which are SMEs.

The second speaker for the evening, Aditya Samag, Business Development Manager - Western Region, Wipro Infotech, who gave the audience an overview of cloud computing and how this technology enables SMEs to access the best in class technologies at lower costs. Post the three sessions in either of the cities, a Q&A session was held, where the three speakers answered a variety of questions related to cloud and SAP ERP.
